It starts with failure

Welcome to post 0.

Today I sucked at combat robotics. My robots died and they didn't need to. I could have had a better time if I had known a few things before going into it.

The learning curve appears to be steep but also not impossible. The challenge is not actually the technical, but the tribal knowledge. Unless you are connected to the community, finding out where to get supplies, what the rules are, and how to get started appears to be nearly impossible. Right now, it's passed down between competitors over years of trial and error. Everyone is busy and working on their next project and it appears no one has the time to write very much of it down, none the less post it somewhere it can be googled.

These days most of the information regarding Combat Robotics is spread out across hundreds of ill maintained websites across the internet. There is no up to date repository of the information you need to get started and be successful. There are many lessons that don't need to be learned the hard way. My hope is that with this site over time we can write of these lessons, and you to can learn to compete at high levels in combat robotics without having to suck so hard on your first outing.

Here we go.
